The unpredictability of paint on silk makes each new work an adventure guided by the sometimes surprising flow of colors on the fabric, rather than an artful attempt to master the materials to capture an image.
Each work begins with a loose plan about where to start painting and where the paint should go. Then things change. Sometimes what looks hard to execute is easy, while other times simple effects are very time consuming.
